Ruth A. Peterson Roach

Ruth A. (Molter) Peterson Roach, 83, of West Lafayette, formerly of Earl Park and the Goodland area, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Cumberland Point Health Campus. Born May 13, 1930 in Ade, IN, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rosetta (Butz) Molter. She was a graduate of Remington High School.

Ruth married Adam J. Roach on March 2, 1984 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2009. She worked in housekeeping at Purdue University McCutcheon Hall and in the home furnishing department at the former L.S. Ayers. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son, Steven Peterson (wife, Mary) of Lafayette; three stepsons, William Roach (wife, Peg) of Carmel, IN, James Roach (wife, Meg) of Chicago, and John Roach of Lafayette; two sisters, Joan Gramman-Puetz (husband, Leonard) of Fowler and Lois Lowe (husband, Al) of Denver, CO; two brothers, Thomas Molter (wife, Jean) of Fowler and Harold "Joe" Molter (wife, Doris) of Rochester, IN; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Madeline and one great-grandchild, Dakota. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Peterson, a son, Larry, two brothers, Ken and Don, and 1 granddaughter, Desire.

Visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial to follow at 1 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Father Daniel Gartland officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
