Tracey Lynn (Ransom) Barnard

Tracey Lynn (Ransom) Barnard, 41, of Rural Oxford, died, Saturday, March 15, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born, April 24, 1972, in Danville, IL, to Douglas & Cheryl "Sherry" (McCool) Ransom. She was a 1990 Graduate of Benton Central High School & a 1994 graduate of Purdue University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She worked, as a Teacher, for Benton Community School Corporation, teaching at Boswell Elementary & Prairie Crossing Elementary. She married Bart Barnard, August 12, 1995 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lafayette, IN; he survives. Tracey loved to watch her children in their activities, being with family & friends, reading, listening to music, shopping & camping. She especially enjoyed family trips to Florida. One of her greatest enjoyments, other than her own family & children, were those Third grade lives she touched through her teaching. Surviving with her Husband, Bart, are a Son & Daughter, Hunter & Hillary Barnard, both at home, parents, Doug & Sherry Ransom, Sister, Beth (Husband, Steve) Snack, Brother, Scott (Wife, Lauren) Ransom, Grandmother, Anna Evelyn (Graves) McCool, Father & Mother-in-Law, Gerald "Jerry" & Martha (Tatlock) Barnard, Sister-in-Law, Jerilyn (Barnard) (Husband, Jeff) Strasburger, Four, nieces, Paige, Georgia, Cecily & Kayla& Two, Nephews, Gavin & Kyle. Two, Brother-in-Laws, Bret & Brad Barnard, Maternal Grandfather, Marvin McCool & Paternal Grandparents, Claire & Helen Louise Ransom, precedes her in death. Visitation, to Celebrate Tracey's Life, will be, Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 3-8 PM, at Fowler United Methodist Church, 908 E. 12th St., Fowler, IN. Funeral Celebration will be, at 10 AM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the church, with Pastor Brenda Ludwig officiating. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to the Tracey L. Ransom Barnard Memorial Scholarship Fund. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein.
