Ralph Slaughter Jr.


Ralph Coleman Slaughter Jr., 87, of Jacksonville died Dec. 6, 2013, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at Maranatha Baptist Church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

He retired from the Marine Corps after serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He received two Purple Hearts and was a licensed pilot.

Survivors include his daughters, Diana Cutter of Westfield, Ind., Linda Ehrsam of Largo, Fla. and Betty Gurganus of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.
