Clayton R. Hahn Sr. Notice
Hahn, Clayton R., Sr. We mourn the loss of Clayton "Clay" Hahn after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013, at the age of 85. Born August 30, 1927, he was predeceased by parents Erwin and Anita (Rost) Hahn and sister Joan (Hahn) Hartman, his first wife Nancy (Smith) Hahn and his companion through most of retirement, his English setter "Willow." Survived by his wife of 40 years, Kay (Nee McCurdy) Hahn, his children; Robin (Hahn) Bupp and Clayton Hahn, Jr., Kay's children Karen (Tom) Kussler and John (Corine) Oaklay and seven grandchildren. Clay served in the U.S. Navy and attended the University of Virginia and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he earned his Bachelor's and in 1952, a law degree. He retired as a senior partner from the law firm Borgelt, Powell, Peterson & Frauen in 1993 where he had worked for 38 years and specialized in workman's compensation cases. In retirement, his lifelong creative passions were explored further, including model shipbuilding, woodworking, ceramics and watercolor painting. He was also an outdoor enthusiast, serving on the Riveredge Nature Center board in Saukville, Wisconsin, becoming a "habitat healer." Clay most enjoyed spending summer vacations at the family cabin that he helped build with his father on Crab Lake in Presque Isle, Wisconsin. Clay deeply appreciated everything in nature. Please join us in a celebration of his life and memorial gathering (open house) on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 2:00-5:00 P.M., at the Riveredge Nature Center, 4458 Hawthorne Drive (County Hwy Y), Saukville, WI - www.riveredgenaturecenter.org. Donations to Riveredge or the would be appreciated.
