Dorothy E. Hill

Notice Condolences

Hill, Dorothy E. Age 92, formerly of Wauwatosa, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Lakeland, Florida. Dorothy was born on August 4, 1920, in Hillsboro. She graduated from Baraboo High School and from the University of Wisconsin. Dorothy taught school in Marion and at the Badger Ordnance Works School in Baraboo during World War II. She was the librarian at the Hoover Elementary School in New Berlin, until moving to Florida in 1981. Dorothy was predeceased on December 19, 1996, by her husband, John V. Hill, whom she married on September 20, 1945, her parents Norman O. and LuluBelle (Spencer) Roth, her sister EvaBelle (Glenn) Kensmoe, her brother Robert N. (the late Patricia) Roth, and her grandson John V. Hill II. She is survived by her sister Roberta M. (the late Ervin) Hunt of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, and her brother Lawrence O. (Jo) Roth of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is further survived by her sons John F. (Patricia) Hill of Atlanta, Georgia, and Carl V. (Mary Ellen) Hill of Leawood, Kansas, daughters Mary E. (Albert) Wendel of Lakeland, Florida, Jane P. (Michael) Maradik of Palatine, Illinois, and Anne E. (Mark) Pennow of Green Bay, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Following a private ceremony, she will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (www.dar.org) at 1776 D St. NW, Washington, DC 20006.
