Georgia Anne Hickey Notice
Hickey, Georgia Anne Called to eternal rest on May 10, 2014, was born August 28, 1943 in Manitowoc, WI to Leonard T. Hickey and Mildred R. (Gottier) Hickey. After WWII, the family moved to De Pere, WI, where Georgia attended St. Boniface Grade School, West De Pere High School, and St. Norbert College. In 1965, she moved to Milwaukee where she taught at Menomonee Falls Middle School. She went on to earn a master's degree at Bemidji State University and later worked as a computer programmer and at Mutual Savings Bank and North Shore Bank before retiring in 2005.Georgia was an active member of the Milwaukee Club of Soroptimist International, serving as an officer and actively participating in their many charitable endeavors. She also belonged to the Elmbrook Cancer Support Group after successfully battling breast cancer in 2004. Reading, traveling, and needlework were her passions. Georgia is survived by her sister, Susan (Hickey) Rosselet and brother-in-law, Stuart Rosselet, both of Bemidji, MN, and dearest companion and partner, John Zandi, Jr. of Milwaukee, along with aunts, cousins and a host of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Funeral Home from 2:30 PM until the time of Service at 3:30 PM. Private burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. The family requests that gifts be directed to the Milwaukee Club of Soroptimist International or the Elmbrook Memorial Foundation for cancer care.
