Dreyer, Gustav J., Jr. "Gus" Entered Eternal Life on August 20, 2013, at the age of 87. Resident of Milwaukee Catholic Home, formerly of Mequon, Fox Point and Shorewood. Gus now joins the love of his life of 57 years, "Betty" Elizabeth J. (nee Jermain) Dreyer. Loving father of Gustav J. (Joy) Dreyer III, William (Jore) Dreyer, Katherine (Jim) Dingman and Tiana Battle. Proud "papa" of Jackie, Chris, John, Abigail, Valerie, Gabby and Briana. Dear brother of the late Dorothy (the late William) Scanlon, the late Charles Dreyer (the late Elizabeth). Dear brother-in-law of William (Jean) Jermain, Mary Kay (the late Larry) Gowan and of the late Louis Jermain (Roberta). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Gus incorporated his appraisal business in 1954. He achieved the designation MAI-SRPA from AIREA and Society of Real Estate Appraisers early in his career. He was highly regarded in the Real Estate appraising field - - serving as President of the local chapter of the AIREA. Gus was nominated to the Board of Directors of Security Bank in 1970 and served with distinction until the merger with M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank. During his career, he was very honored to serve on the advisory board of The Salvation Army. Gus was a member for many years of the Downtown Milwaukee Rotary Club and the Ozaukee Country Club. In his later years Gus enjoyed painting, playing chess with his grandson, and playing his cello. During his life, his one big enjoyment was giving of his time and talent to others in need. The family deeply thanks Gus' special caregiver, Barbara Battle and the helpful staff of the Milwaukee Catholic Home for all their extra care and concern. Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 24, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Milwaukee Catholic Home, St. Anne's Chapel, 2462 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery will be private for the family. Memorials in Gus' name may be made to The Salvation Army, 11315 W. Watertown Plank Road, P.O. Box 26019, Wauwatosa, WI 53226 Please, no flowers. Rather than sending flowers, Gus would ask that you pay a visit to someone or do a good deed. Gus was the last of the true gentlemen.
