James T. Garbeff Notice
Garbeff, James T. Age 71, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2013. Jim was born on August 1, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI. A southpaw, he was an accomplished baseball pitcher whose career spanned Milwaukee South Division, Northwestern University where he is still ranked 5th overall with 225 strikeouts and the Cincinnati Reds organization. He graduated from Northwestern where he studied business. He designed and built custom homes under his own company, Aristocrat Builders. For Jim, working hard and family was what life was all about. His work ethic was second to none a perfectionist in everything, he did things his way. He valued his children and loved it most when the family was all together stories from his youth and time playing ball are cherished memories. His optimism, friendliness and generous heart will be missed by all he touched. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patti, his son Greg (Debbie), daughters Lisa (Brad), Heather (Bradley), Laura (Will), Pattie Ann and seven grandchildren as well as his sisters, Marianne, Ceil and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph, his mother Goldie and his brother Ted. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Friday May 24th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9150 Pflumm, Lenexa, KS 66215. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to support the JCPRD Special Olympics team Attn: Kelly Reilly, 6501 Antioch Road, Shawnee Mission KS 66202.
