John Marshall Warner Notice
Warner, John Marshall Age 87, of Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts died Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born to John C. and Jane M.Warner May 20, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1943 and joined the United States Army Air Forces as a navigator assigned to Air Transport Command in Natal, Brazil, during orld War II. After his discharge, John attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he obtained a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the U.W. Union, Sigma Chi fraternity and several Engineering Associations. It was in Madison that John met the love of his life, Carol Jean Kinkel. John and Carol were married in Oconomowoc, WI, on October 28, 1950, and lived in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Pennsylvania during his ten years with the General Electric Company. In 1960, John and Carol returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with their children where John began a successful 32 year career in advertising as an incredibly creative and talented account executive. John instilled in his children and grandchildren a love of knowledge and excitement about the world around them. He was a truly talented renaissance man: whether playing tennis, golf, and the piano, or inventing useful patented solutions for everyday life. His kindness and honesty were noted trademarks and his optimism and hearty laugh drew others to him. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Warner, a sister, Elizabeth Warner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four children, Rick Warner (Joan) of Goshen, KY; Terry Warner of St. Louis Park, MN; Betsy Oakes (Jeff ) of East Sandwich, MA; and David Warner (Chelsie) of Santa Rosa, CA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Arrangements are being coordinated by Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home. A service is planned for the spring in Elm Grove, Wisconsin.
