Richard Jean Schild Notice
Schild, Richard Jean Resident of Sun City, AZ, passed away Wed., December 18, 2013 at the age of 81. Richard was born May 14, 1932 in a La Crosse, WI to Reuben Albert and Leona Matilda (nee Neuman) Schild. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Ann Halverson Schild, whom he married Sept 15, 1954. Also survived by his children, Bradley Schild and Kathleen (Peter) Zarwell and grandchildren, Sylvan and Jesse Anne Zarwell. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from UW-La Crosse and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Richard was in the US Army 1954-1956, and served in Germany for over a year. Richard was a teacher, first in the elementary/ high schools, Wisconsin and Iowa, followed by University of Cali-fornia-Fullerton and UW-Milwau-kee, from which he retired in 1994. He lived in Milwaukee area until 2003, then moved to Sun City, AZ. He enjoyed a game of bridge with friends and traveled extensively in Europe. In Sun City, he belonged to the Wisconsin Badger Club, Sons of Norway and the Scandinavian Club. He led a full life, enjoying every moment of it until his final illness. A memorial service planned for spring 2014 at St. John's United Church of Christ and internment at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse, WI. Date to be determined.
