Dr.  Robert "Bob" Magliocco Notice
Magliocco, Robert Dr. "Bob" Of Brookfield. Left us peacefully for heaven on April 4, 2013, at the age of 88, to join Marilyn and his parents. Beloved husband of Janet (Davis). Loving father of Richard (Paula), James (Dana), John (Jill), Gary (Anne) Magliocco. Proud "Gramps" of Brian (Melissa), Scott, Lindsay, Kristin, James, Brandon, Andrea, Matthew, Kaitlin and great-grandchild Dominic. Bob received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, and continued with his studies in medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was Board certified in surgery in 1961. Bob held his medical practice at Lakeview Hospital from 1953 until he retired in 2001. He served as Chief of Staff; was Chairman of the Surgical Department, and Director of the Wound Care Clinic. He also served on the Board of Directors at both Lakeview Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. As a member of the Lakeview Foundation, Bob was able to designate funds to many underprivileged schools in the Milwaukee area. He was an active member in the alumni association of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, which honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Bob loved to play golf and was a long-time member of Westmoor Country Club, where he made many friendships and served on many committees. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bob was also a fantastic woodworker and had an amazing workshop. He also loved to 'have a good time' with friends and family, and was known to have a great passion for Italian cooking. In the midst of his busy schedule, he also found time to write a book about his life. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 9, from 4 to 6:30 PM. Additional visitation will be held St. John Vianney Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, on Wednesday, April 10, from 9:45 AM until a eulogy at 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, graveside services at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorials in Dr. Magliocco's memory may be given to the Salvation Army, Milwaukee Rescue Mission or Nativity Jesuit Middle School.
