Wyatt W. Dawson Notice
Dawson, Wyatt W. Age 90, of Plano, Texas passed away on September 1, 2013. He was born in El Paso, Texas and lived most of his young years in the Los Angeles, California area. Wyatt graduated from LA High School and received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. He served his country in World War II as a navigator in the 554th Army Air Force Base Unit, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He married Marilyn Murray on March 24, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. Wyatt worked as a salesman, manager and VP of Operations for Rexnord, Inc., while living in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and finishing his career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has been an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life and traveled the world to hunt as well as to book trips and safaris for others. He was a member of Safari Club International, Dallas Safari Club, serving as president, and served on the Board of Directors for Gehl Corporation and Junior Achievement. Wyatt is survived by his wife, Marilyn; five children, Carolee Doty, Mary Lou Innes, William Dawson, Hugh Dawson, Sally Pfeifer; sister-in-law, Jeane Fleming; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four nieces. Military services will be held on Friday, September 6, at the DFW National Cemetery at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hillsdale College, 33 East College Street, Hillsdale, MI. 49242 or the Texas Wildlife Association, 2800 North NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78218.
