Not sure what to say?

I'm very sorry to hear this. He was one of our favorite customers at Jackson 10, always coming in with his Michigan State hat on and his wife. Even though our interactions may have been short, you've definitely had a positive impact on us. We all loved you! From all of us at Jackson 10, we miss you and hope your family is doing alright.

I miss you Daddy. How many times did I have to say that sentence to you. Too many. I miss your smile, your hugs, your unconditional love. You never made me feel like I didn't measure up- I was just your Bee. You were my cheering section always positive reminding me to try and not give up. How will I get through the rest of my life without you? God, prayer(you taught us well) I know that this is not goodbye, I just miss you so much .

I've been meaning to write something in here about Uncle Ted, but have had a hard time finding the right words the last days. His passing is a shock, and his loss is such an enormity to our family. It will take a lot of time to accept and realize that we'll never see him again. That is, in this life though, only. I have no doubt where he is now, and have talked with him about this before.

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with all of you. To Aunt Mary, to lose the love of her life and soul mate, both so young still. They were the fairy tale couple, so many aspire to be. And to Ted Jr., Dawn, Mike, June, Mary, and families. It's hard to express in words how I feel for all of you, and about all this. To Ted Jr., I hope that you can take some comfort that your Dad and Dylan are together now. You will all make it through this, over time. Death can't take away all the different memories and stories that each of has about him. He will live on always in all of them, and in each of you.

Uncle Ted was everything that many of you've written about. He was the person he came across as. He was a gentleman, in all sense of the words. He was nice, kind, thoughtful, caring, encouraging, supportive, selfless, upbeat, positive, and funny. He had a great sense of humor, great sense of timing in telling a joke, and made you laugh as he found something comical in what you were talking about. Yet, he could be very serious, and you knew that he meant what he said. That it was genuine, and heartfelt. You ended up feeling better in general after you had seen him. He had MANY friends, from childhood life-long friendships to past co-workers to friends they met during their walks, shopping, and eating; was one of the first Northwest Mountie athletes, a proud Navy veteran, and a well-earned JCC graduate. His faith, belief, and devotion to God and the Bible were unshakable. He was the real deal, and leaves an unending legacy.

We will miss many things about you. I will miss not visiting with you, when you and Aunt Mary came over, seeing you at the stores, family get-togethers, your car and the MSU flags on game day, you and Doug with MSU vs. U of M, your laugh, listening when you and my parents talked, and you not being there when something is wrong with someone in the family.

Thanks for being our uncle, Uncle Ted. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts, the endless prayers, and for your interest and making each of us feel special. We all feel your passing and loss, from my Mom and Dad, down to the youngest in our families. You touched each of us, individually. It was my honor to be a pallbearer, and I can't help but feel fortunate that the last time I saw you was your 50th anniversary party. It was a great night, gathering, and memory. Until we all see you again in heaven. For you Uncle Ted - Go Mounties and Go State!

From Jeff and everyone in our families.

It takes a strong person to live life with love, laughter, happiness, and faith all the time. The ups and downs of life can be balanced with trust in God. Ted worked by my office for a number of years before he retired. I always appreciated his welcome and friendliness. He always had a kind word and a few comments on our Spartans to share. Even after he retired and came back to Parnall for his weekly Bible study, he always had a smile and took time to chat for a couple minutes. Prayers for peace & hope to your family.
