Harold G. Johnson

Harold G. Johnson, age 68, died Monday morning, April 14, 2014 at his residence in Jackson, TN.

He was born March 23, 1946 in Bells, TN, the son of the late Tootsie and Nettie Smith Johnson. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, he was self-employed, a dedicated communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a compassionate caregiver, sitting with the elderly, a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen and serving his fellow man in any way he could help. He was always there for others.

Mr. Johnson is survived by two sons, Terry Johnson and wife Wendy of Jackson, TN, Harold Johnson, Jr. and wife Mariana of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Julie Wood and husband Tim of Jackson, TN; one brother, Terry Johnson; four sisters, Thelma Plumbly, Wanda McMahan, Kay LaRose, Sherry Marcom; five grandchildren, Hunter Wood, Katelyn Wood, Destiny Johnson, Terry Johnson, Jr. and Lucas Wood.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to Faith Medical Healing Center, 510 Carriage House Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Monsignor Thomas Kirk officiating. There will be a visitation time with the family following the service. A private family burial will be held at Providence Cemetery.
