Harold Maxwell

Graveside services for Mr. Harold Maxwell, age 89, will be at 10:30 am Monday, November 4, 2013 at Browns Cemetery with Military Honors at the graveside. Dr. Jerry Welch will officiate. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Maxwell went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 31, 2013.

He was born in Henderson County, TN to the late Eugene Maxwell and Wanda Arlene Gilliam Maxwell. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was Baptist in faith. He married the late Louise Wells on December 31, 1947. They moved to Chicago in 1957 and lived there for 22 years where he owned and operated Fas-In Corp. After moving back to Jackson in 1979 he formed and operated Tap Industries until 1999 when he retired. Mr. Maxwell was a Mason, an antique car collector, loved gardening and riding his John Deere tractor.

Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Harold Maxwell, Jr.; a daughter, Diane Maxwell Adams; his brothers, Joe and Robert Maxwell; his sister, Patsy Duncan and a son-in-law, William Elam Richardson.

Surviving are his daughters, Vickie Richardson and Gwen Schremser and husband, Paul all of Jackson; his grandchildren, Lisa Sarmento and husband, Brian of Nashville, Maxwell McFarland and Andrea and Samantha Schremser all of Jackson; his great-grandchildren, Michael Sarmento of Nashville and Nina McFarland of Jackson; and a son-in-law, Marlin Adams of Ohio.

Pallbearers for the service will be Charlie Butler, Jimmy Alexander, O.R. Alexander, Bill Alexander, Art Wells and Gary Maxwell.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, 731-424-2424
