William B. Thompson
Jackson, TN - Funeral mass for William Beverly Thompson, age 81, will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Thompson was born on July 19, 1932 and died December 20, 2013.
He was born in Wood River, IL, son of the late Harold Irving and Dorothy Slone Thompson. He was raised by his father and step-mother, Mrs. Florence Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Korean War, having served as a GM-2 Gunner's Mate. He also worked for the Seabee Battalion Three at Cubi Point Naval Air Station, Philippines, and later served as a Military Policeman at Subic Navel Base, Philippines. For his distinguished and meritorious service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Star, and the National Defense Service Ribbon. After his service in the Navy, he worked as a U.S. Coast Guard licensed a Boat Master for the U.S. Department of Defense at Wallace Air Station, La Union, Philippines and at the U. S. White Beach Port Facility, White Beach, Okinawa. Mr. Thompson was a 32nd degree Free Mason and a member of the ASIYA Shrine in San Mateo, CA, as well as a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his wife, Mrs. Jolly Banalnal Thompson, her three daughters, Jeannylen, Sarah and Erlyn whom he adopted, and their children, Arvin, James, Elijah and Brielle. He also leaves behind an adopted son, Thomas Slone Thompson of La Union, Philippines, and his daughter, Trinity. Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Carol DeHart (spouse Michael)of Mary Eshter, FL and Aida Kaye Thompson-Couch of Jackson, TN; a son, Webb Thompson of San Carlos, AZ, children from his late wife, Aida Caccam Thompson of Baguio City, Philippines. He leaves behind ten grandchildren, Michael John DeHart, Jr. Jonathan William DeHart, Jeremy George DeHart, Dawn Yvette Benz, Samantha Elizabeth Couch, Morgan Guy Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Viola Lynn Thompson, Kandance Kaye Thompson, Uriah William Thompson, and nine great-grandchildren, Angel, Marcos, Aubrey, Marquese, Khia, Maliah Kaydence, Kylan Thompson and Brice Taylor Benz.
