EDWARD W. BOJAN Born: Sept. 28, 1922; in Chicago Died: Feb. 22, 2014; in Plainfield Edward W. Bojan, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2014, at Lakewood Living Center, Plainfield. He was born September 28, 1922 in Chicago, IL to the late Francis "Frank" and Katherine Bojan. Edward is survived by sister, Amelia (the late Anthony) Niziolek, and his many nieces, nephews and greatnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John (the late Mary), William (the late Charlotte) and Stanley Bojan. From an early age, Ed possessed a true love for music and dance. He taught himself to play the concertina, becoming one of the greatest players in the Chicagoland area. He played in many bands and even produced and composed his own music. When others told them not to bother, Ed encouraged new musicians to follow their dreams. He took great joy in bringing happiness to people through his music. Ed was also an incredible handyman and was always available to help someone in need. He was a life-long learner and whenever possible increased his vast knowledge. Though he never had children of his own, he was a loving and patient family man and was at ease around the younger generations. He was also a gentle caregiver for his parents and siblings and asked for nothing in return. Ed served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the US Army during WW II in the North African Campaign. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Edward 's life, memorials to the American CancerSociety would be greatly appreciated.
