Eugene L. Alberico "Gene" - Born June 14, 1929 in Joliet, went to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 28, 2014 and joined his loving wife of 50 years, Janet O. (nee Miller) Alberico. Resided in Plainfield, for 45 years.
Survived by his two sons, Jim (Kathy) Alberico of Crest Hill and Randy Alberico of Minooka; two daughters, Carla (Mark) Binzen of Channahon and Crystal (David) Pearce of Lynnwood, Washington; nine grandchildren, Nate Alberico, Anthony Alberico, Melissa Alberico, Justin Alberico, Mark Alberico, Jordan Alberico and Dominic Alberico, Courtney Binzen and Lindsey Binzen; one great granddaughter, Rayvn Alberico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Constance (nee Bucciferro) Alberico; sisters, Edith (late Chris) Alberico, Angela (late Sam) DeAngelis and Phyllis (late Ray) Mutz; brothers, Nunzio Alberico, Daniel (late Louise) Alberico and Henry (Rose) Alberico; and a brother, Earnest in infancy.
Veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from Texico and a member for 41 years at Friendship Baptist Church in Plainfield.
Gene was an avid Chicago White Sox Fan and enjoyed going bowling.
Lying in state at the Friendship Baptist Church, 15801 S. Route 59, Plainfield, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 10:30 AM. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
