George T. Eberhard George T. Eberhard, age 86. Peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice home. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended Joliet Junior College and a graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1946. A WWII U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Retired from Standard Oil after 30 years of service as a sales representative. He was an avid bowler and golfer in later years golfing with the Medicare Swingers. He was an active member and usher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Preceded by his wife, Marjorie (nee Vogrin) Eberhard; his son, Timothy Eberhard (1989); his parents; two brothers, Bob and Al Eberhard; six sisters, Anna Mae Whitney, Helen Baldwin, Theoda Dillon, Bessie Sorensen, Lucille Eberhard and Bea Schultz. Survived by his loving wife, Maryellen (nee Maher) (Mandzuk) Eberhard of Joliet; three sons, Randall (Vicki) of Tucson, AZ, Michael (Anna) of Joliet and Stephen (Barbara) Eberhard of Joliet; three granddaughters, Carollyn (Bart) Mushro, Kristin (Andrew) Porter and Lindsey Eberhard; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Blake Mushro; his twin sister, Evelyn (the late Donald) Gates of Crest Hill; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for George T. Eberhard will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory Street, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. As it was George's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Inurnment St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church would be appreciated.
