Bernard "Bernie" Gadomski, 60, of Rockville, beloved husband of Norah (Overend) Gadomski, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 12, 1953, in Rockville to the late Joseph and Mary (Zagura) Gadomski. Bernie graduated from Ellington High School and worked at Roosevelt Mills prior to owning his own business, Tomahawk Contractors. For the last 25 years he has owned and managed Elm Hill Manor and Norah's Place in Rockville and managed the property of CNC Software in Tolland. He was a longtime member of the Elks Club. His other enjoyment was spending time with family and friends at Strawberry Park in Preston.
Besides his wife, Norah, he is survived by his children, Debra and David MacCoy, Lisa and Pasquale Cortese, Mark and Jamie Summers, David and Christine Dill, Kerry and Debra Uzell, Wesley Fortin and Coen and Nicole vanKalker; his grandchildren, Carter and Christopher MacCoy, Meghan and Brendan West, Braden, Emily, Mikaila, and Nicholas Summers, Joseph and Kari Dill, Angela, Cassandra, and Pasquale Cortese, and Sofie and Hidde vanKalker; his great-grandson, Holden West, who loved his Papa B; his best friends, Joan Davis, Dave and Brenda Johnson, Bill and Sharon Senk, and many family members living in Europe. Bernie was predeceased by his brother, Paul J. Gadomski, and his granddaughter, Cristina Cortese.
Relatives and friends may join the family Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Church, 33 West St., Rockville. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Hockanum Valley Community Council Food Pantry, 29 Naek Road, Suite 5A, Vernon, CT 06066.
