Harold J. Finch, 84, of Staffordville, husband of the late Joyce (Coderre) Finch, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Woodlake at Tolland.

He was born in Norwalk, son of the late Fred L. and Laura (Underhill) Finch. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II, and was the former owner/operator of Stafford Equipment and Sims Inc. He was the oldest living member (73 years) and a former chief for 13 years of Stafford Fire Department No. 1, member and past president of the Connecticut Fireman's Association, former fire marshal for the Town of Stafford, member and former treasurer of Tolland County Mutual Aid Fire Service, member of the Stafford Democratic Town Committee, the Italian Benefit Society, and former member of the Stafford Rotary Club. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Harold is survived by his four children, Joyce Fantoli, and her husband, John, Thomas Finch, Lori Finch, and John Finch, and his wife, Patricia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother, Francis "Bud" Finch, and his wife, Barbara; his companion of 17 years, Shirley Dobson; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs. Burial with military honors will follow in Staffordville Cemetery, Staffordville. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
