Lois Ingram Unterborn, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed art, music, and literature, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, after a long illness at the age of 77.

She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, then attended Duke University and Purdue University from which she graduated in 1959. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After her marriage in 1961, she resided in Vernon for 26 years. Initially, she taught French and Spanish at Rockville High School. Later, she started her own business and sold packaging throughout New England. Lois was a director of the Rockville Public Library and president of the Jaycee Wives. She attended the University of Hartford Art School. She then resided in Indianapolis, Ind., Andover, Mass., Durham, N.H., and then eventually moved to Green Valley, Ariz., where she died peacefully with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David, as well as and their children, John, and his wife, Michelle, with their two children of Marblehead, Mass., as well as Sharon, and her husband, Thomas Davis, and their two children of Eliot, Maine. She also leaves her sister, Dorothy Buchwald of Virginia Beach, Va.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the University of Arizona Thoracic Oncology Center. Checks can be made payable to UA/UACC and include in the memo line "direct to Linda Garland MD-Lung Cancer Research" and be mailed to University of Arizona Cancer Center, Attention: Lora Macias, 1515 N. Campbell Ave. Room 1969, Tucson, AZ 85724.
