Mahlon "Chuck" Sabo, 71, beloved husband of Elaine (Lattimer) Sabo, of Torrington, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

He was born in New Britain and was son to the late Mahlon E. and Helen (Portante) Sabo. After retiring as deputy chief for the New Britain Police Department, Chuck served as the police chief in Torrington, retiring in 1997.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, associate editor of the Journal Inquirer, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Melissa (Sabo) Marshall and her husband, Daniel, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Chelsea Sabo and her fiancé, Keith Murray, of Torrington; and a son, Ryan Sabo, of Torrington; a sister, Linda Sabo, of Saco, Maine; three precious grandchildren, Derek Mayette, James and Devon Marshall, of Sierra Vista; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Arrangements were handled by the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
