Robert W. Lassen, 91, of Manchester, husband of the late Eleanor (Livingston) Lassen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at a local convalescent home.

Bob was born on March 5, 1922, in Hartford son of the late John and Mildred (Fellage) Lassen. He attended local schools and enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He served his country for over three years during World War II as an electrician's mate. Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed with HELCO for many years as a troubleshooter. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 2046 in Manchester and a member of American Legion Post 8 in Norwich, Vt.

He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and William Pomeroy of Manchester and Debra and Jim Desso of Stafford; his three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Risa Lassen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Thomas and Doe Lassen of Virginia Beach, Va., and Bobby Lassen of Paris, Maine; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, James Desso Jr.; and his brother, Jack Lassen and his wife, Lynne Lassen.

Funeral services and burial in East Cemetery, Manchester, will be private. There are no calling hours.
