Mr. Thomas J. Hart, 75, died April 4, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Fla.

Tom was born in Hartford, and has been a winter resident of Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from Vernon. He was a graduate of Weaver High School, Hartford. Tom was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked as an electrician for the city of Hartford's school board for 35 years before his retirement in 1994. Tom attended the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Manchester. He was a lifetime member of the Irish American Home Society, Glastonbury, and the Elks Lodge 1774 in Vero Beach.

Tom leaves behind many wonderful friends and family members, including his wife of 40 years, Patsy Hart of Vero Beach and Vernon; sons Aidan Dockery of Chambersburg, Pa., and Brian Dockery of Enfield; daughter Maria Hart of South Windsor; sister Carol Ritchie of East Hartford; and grandchildren Shana Dockery, Sean Dockery, and Mikayla Kelley. Tom was predeceased by a daughter, Bridget Hart, and a sister, Mary Hart.

Memorial contributions can be made to East Catholic High School, 115 New State Road, Manchester, CT 06042 in memory of Tom Hart.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 8, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
