Thomas J. Noel of Broad Brook died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.

Born in Hartford on July 20, 1943, to Joseph and Frances (Molloy) Noel of East Hartford. Tom served his country in the Army from 1960-1963, and went to A.I. Prince Technical School. Tom was a member of the Bricklayers and Masons International Union Local 01 and was a union steward. In 1976, he went in to business with his best friend, George McGuire. Moonlight Masons did a number of beautiful chimneys, patios, and fireplaces in Enfield and surrounding areas. In 1980, he formed Broad Brook Masons and then went into business with his son, Steven, in 1983. They continued their work until Tom's retirement in 2003. Tom was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1525 in Enfield.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Tom was predeceased by his first wife, Elly, in 1988. He is survived by three children, Rochelle McCarthy, and her daughter, Leah; Steven, his wife Jayne, and their four-legged son, TJ; Heather Noel-Walker, and her children, Mary and Casey. Tom is also survived by his former third wife, Sharleen Craft; and children, Tammy Welch (David), Tracey Lay (Rich), Kelly Boody (David); and five grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Jackie, Cora, and Dawn who cared deeply for him the last few years.

The family will receive friends at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Windsorville Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Broad Brook Fire Department Association, 125 Main St., Broad Brook, CT 06016.
