KENNETH J. KONING, 81 FREEPORT - Kenneth J. Koning, 81, of Freeport passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. He was born the son of Aaron and Helen (Kraft) Koning on May 27, 1932, in Baileyville. Kenneth married Carolyn Babcock Pfile on March 19, 1960. Ken owned Koning Air Hammering Business for 27 years and did cement work on the side; he retired March 1, 1998. He was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles Club, and lifetime member of the VFW Club. He enjoyed 35 years of going to the lakes on weekends where he owned Koning Mobile Home Park at Edgerton, WI. He enjoyed many years of boating and fishing. Surviving is his wife, Carolyn; 3 children, Maxine Pike, Gene (Twyla) Koning, Bonnie (Eric) Davis; 7 grandchildren, Carrie Koning, Eric (Megan) Koning and Kyle, Joel, Lindsey, Josh and Liam Davis, 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew Borneman, Kendra and Paxton Koning; 2 sisters, Alice Truckenmiller and Shirley Rife; 2 brothers, Maurice Koning and Clarence (Elaine) Koning; several nieces and nephews, friends and relatives. He is preceded by his parents; his brother, Walter; 1 sister-in-law, Delores; 1 son-in-law, Lloyd Pike. Funeral Services will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, with Rev. Jon Eastlick officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
