LOUIS KRACHT, 89 GILROY, CA - Louis Kracht, 89, passed away April 17, 2014, at the VA Hospice in Menlo Park, with his loving daughters, Vickie and Stephanie, by his side. He was born in Freeport, IL. After graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he fought in the Pacific. After his discharge he played semi-professional basketball. He had been a journeyman carpenter for 30 years prior to his retirement. His contagious laughter and mischievous nature will be forever missed by all who loved him. Louis is preceded in death by his parents; sister; and loving wife, Dorothy Wenzel Kracht. He is survived by his daughters Susan, Vickie (Frank), Stephanie (Rob); 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; niece, Lori (Roger); great-niece, Katie; and great-nephew, John. Louis will be buried alongside Dorothy in Paso Robles, CA District Cemetery. The family requests that any donations be made in Louis' name to Pathways Hospice, 585 N. Mary Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085.
