LYLE R. DAVIDSON, 84 LENA - Lyle R. Davidson, 84, of Lena, IL went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the Serenity Hospice Home. Lyle was born on January, 27, 1930, to Emroy F. and Opal (Chatterton) Davidson in Murdo, SD. He married Maybelle Doeden on September 23, 1972, in Madison, WI. He served his country in the United States Marines from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean War. While stationed in Hawaii, he was a jet mechanic. He farmed for many years on his family farm in Hand County, SD, then he and his family moved to Lena, IL in 1978. After moving to Lena, he worked as an auto mechanic at the Ken-Harold Buick Garage in Freeport, IL. He was a member of Grace FMC of McConnell, IL, and also attended Abiding Word Church in Sterling, IL while he lived there. He is survived by a six daughters, Helen Davidson, Mary (Don) Gander, Carol Gander, Nikki (Mark) Leverton, Dawn (Greg) Spinhirne, Toni (Dan) Busker; six sons, Don (Genie) Davidson, John (Linda Westra) Davidson, Tim Bisbee, Richard (Sue) Mooney, Steve (Linda) Davidson, and Scott (Audra Burge) Davidson; 38 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren; one sister, Laura (George) Hackworth; three sisters-in-law, Gwen Davidson, Betty Lu Davidson, and Ann Doeden. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maybelle; brothers, Everett, Claud, Elvin, Fred, and Charles; sisters, Bonnie, Ella, Cora, and Bertha. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL. Rev. Paul Alf and Rev. Scott Porter will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL. A memorial has been established in his memory.
