RUSSELL LEROY ROINESTAD, 72 FREEPORT - Russell LeRoy Roinestad, 72, of Freeport died Tuesday, September 17, 2013. He was born July 29, 1941, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; the son of Harold S. and Anna E. (Barneson) Roinestad. He married Judy Ryan on October 2, 1965, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Russell worked as a Welder and Millright. Russell was an avid car modeler. He was a member of the Illinois Modelers Club, Northern Illinois Tabletop Cruisers and Kustom Kemps. Russell was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He did volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, Stephen's Minister and served as a volunteer Fireman. He was a Boy Scout Leader and belonged to the order of the Arrow. Mr. Roinestad is survived by his wife; one son, Richard L. Roinestad of Willmar, Minnesota; daughter, Tracy (James) Clay of Freeport; three grandchildren, Chancellor, Katherina and Kristiana Clay. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert. A memorial service for Mr. Roinestad will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freeport. Rev. Richard "Ros" Schultz and Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Immanuel Lutheran School Library.
