Alex Sity RACINE – Alex Sity, 92, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Seasons Hospice Palliative Care in Waukesha. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 10, 1921, the son of the late Alex and Mary (nee: Shostek) Sity. Alex proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Iowa as Seaman First Class, during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged on December 16, 1945. Alex was united in marriage to Evelyn Christine Jacobsen on April 8, 1950 in Racine. Alex is survived by his sons, David (Lynne) Sity, Douglas Sity of Racine, Mark (Carla) Sity of West Allis; grandchildren, Doug (Monica) Schoenech, Greg Schoenech, Lydia Sity, Alexa (Brandon) Schulz, Ashley (Bryan) Boldus; sisters, Jenny Spencer, Sue Topinka; brothers, Joe (Donna) Syty and Wally (Kathy) Syty. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn on October 14, 2003; daughter, Kristine Sity on August 31, 1988, daughter–in-law Leda Sity; brothers–in-law, Lee Spencer and Dean Topinka. There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., followed by full military honors. Private inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
