RACINE-Arthur Marvin Keller, 81, passed away at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee on November 15, 2012, with his family by his side. Art was born in Kulm, North Dakota on November 18, 1930, son of the late Robert and Anna (nee: Bader) Keller. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955. Art attended college through the GI Bill, and in 1957 he received a Bachelors degree from the State Teachers College at Valley City in North Dakota with Majors in Chemistry and Mathematics. He attended Purdue University and later graduated from North Dakota State University with a Masters Degree in Chemical Technology. Art was united in marriage to Helen Just of Racine at Trinity Lutheran Church on September 8, 1962. Arthur was retired, having been employed at S.C. Johnson Wax where he worked in Research and Development in various capacities for 32 years. Art was a past member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, holding several positions, as church usher, treasurer and president of P.T.L. Art loved to golf with his close friends, Dan, Berg and Dick. He was very proud of his Hole in One at Ives Grove Golf Course. Art was a gentle man who cared deeply for his family and he enriched the lives of all those around him. He found great joy and peace at his vacation home Up North in Pembine, WI. Art loved to travel with his wife. He enjoyed hunting and taking his annual trip to Canada to go Walleye fishing. Before his death, Art and Helen celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Many close friends and family members joined in the celebration that he enjoyed immensely. Art is survived by his wife, Helen, one daughter, Sandra (James) Jakus, of Hubertus, one son, Robert (Jennifer Jones) Keller of Racine, and four grandchildren, Adam, Haley, Elliot and Alina. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Wilma Keller of North Dakota, brother-in-law, Douglas (Dolores) Just of Union Grove along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Art was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford and one sister, Violet. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:15 p.m. with Rev. David Gehne and Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Art will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors following services. Visitation will be at church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with service scheduled at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Art in a special way may direct memorials to Trinity Church or Froedtert Hospital c/o Palliative Care Unit.
