She was preceded in death by her father and her parents-in-law as well as a brother-in-law, Rick LaMartina. Dawns family's heartfelt gratitude goes out to the many special people who helped her throughout her last few weeks; including doctors, nurses and nursing assistants. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that donations be sent to the non-profit Hospice Alliance at www.hospicealliance.org. As per Dawns wishes, she will be cremated.
