Harvey "Rusty" Bartels August 19,1929 - February 8, 2013 Rusty Bartels, 83 is now Soaring with the Eagles after a battle with cancer. Rusty was born in Milwaukee, Wi. to Harvey II and Irene Bartels. He was wed to Bette Leonardelli on September 27th, 1952. Rusty served a short tour of duty in the Army during the Korean Conflict, in the Military Police Corp. He then returned to Milwaukee, where he earned an Electronics Technician Certificate. He worked for AC Spark Plug of General Motors as a Product Inspector for a 21 year career, where his proudest accomplishment was Group Head of Quality Assurance for the Apollo Guidance and Navigation Systems. He worked for Western Printing as Quality Assurance and Consumer Quality Safety Manager for 18 years in Racine, Wi. Rusty was a member of the Elks Club where he enjoyed calling Bingo. His passion was miniatures, carving, painting and photography. He was also an avid Eagle (bird) watcher. Rusty and Bette moved to Sierra Vista, Az. in 1999 where they fell in love with the mountains and climate. Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bette, three daughters, Kim (Mark) Caravella, Gail (Vern)Bartels-Bedner, Joy Bisol, and one son Todd (Janet) Bartels. One Grandson and two great-grandchildren. Rusty will be greatly missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the
