BURLINGTON - Kenneth J. Lois, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home. Born May 2, 1932 to Joseph and Regina (nee Weber) Lois, he spent his early life in New Munster where he attended St. Alphonsus School and graduated from Wilmot High School. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. On June 2, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Rahberger. They lived in Burlington their entire marriage where they attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Joyce preceded him in death on June 6, 2013. Ken worked for Burlington Wholesale Foods, was a member of VFW Post 2823 and was a retired volunteer Firefighter. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed spending time at his cabin Up North. He was an avid Packer and Brewers fan. He is survived by his children, Patricia (Jeffrey) Lofy of Sparks, NV, Keith (Colleen) Lois and Brian (Corrie) Lois, all of Burlington. He is further survived by grandchildren, Christopher (Kirsten) Lofy, Carrie (fiancé, Dave Held) Lois, Kylie Lois, Kelly Lois, Leslie Lois and Jennifer Lois: great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kaden Lofy; brothers and sisters, Anita (John) Nemath, Janet (Bob) Uhen, Verena (Jim) Schaffer, Marie (Harold) Boulden and Jerome (Noreen) Lois, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Denise Lois, brother, Richard Lois and sister, Mercedes Woyak. Memorials to Seasons Hospice or VFW Post 2823 would be appreciated by the family. Services for Ken will be Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Holbus officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 23rd from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with a prayer vigil at 7:00 PM.
