WESTON - Mary Anne Lochner, age 92, died on October 14, 2012 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Weston. Mary Anne was born in Arpin, Wisconsin on March 3, 1920 to Henry and Margaret (Schill) Lochner. Mary Anne attended North Arpin grade schools, Auburndale High School, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1941, and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, with a Master of Science degree in 1948. She taught in high schools in Wisconsin for 41 years, including Marathon, Edgerton, Lancaster, Racine and Case High School. She was past President of Racine Education Association and the Racine Area Retired Educators Association and twice President of Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mary Anne was a long time member of the Racine Branch of the American Association of University Women, member of St. Agnes Church, three times a Fulbright Scholar to Italy in 1958, Japan in 1967, and Poland in 1976. She was elected to Southeastern, Wisconsin Educators Hall of Fame in 1992. Survivors include a sister, Annette Gehrke, Mosinee, nieces and nephews. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Medard and Andre, four sisters, Veronica Gilzmer, Martha Schumacher, Frances Hlavachek and Agnes Lewens. Funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6101 Zinser Street, Weston, on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Roy Witucki will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Following a luncheon at the church, burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery in Auburndale.
