KANSASVILLE - Age 100, passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints. Marie was born August 26, 1913 to Ernest and Eunice (nee Kelly) Henningfield in Rosewood, WI. Her early life was spent in Dover where she attended Sunnyside School and Union Grove High School. On October 25, 1930 she was united in marriage to the late Nicholas Fettes at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brighton. Nick passed away March 25, 1981. On March 31, 1984 Marie was married to the late Marcell Kerkman at St. Mary’s in Dover. She resided in the Kansasville area her whole life and drove school bus for over 26 years. Marie enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing cards, reading and the basic JOYS of life. She loved jokes and stories. But, more than anything she was a faith filled woman who loved God, her family and friends. She made quilts for her family and was known for her dedication to sending out Birthday and Christmas Cards. Marie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 7924, St. Mary’s, and the Senior Card Clubs in Waterford, Burlington and Union Grove. Marie is survived by her children; Nic (Rose) Fettes of Kansasville, Helen Reesman of Sturtevant, Mary Anne Hoffmann of Racine, Judy (Tom) Adam of Little Rock AK, Sally Larson of Lake Geneva, David (Rita) Fettes of CO, Sue (Bob) Reuss of Wisconsin Dells and Don (Tammie) Fettes of Rice Lake; daughter-in-law, Carol Fettes of Burlington and son-in-law, Bill Jacobs;. stepchildren, Ron (Sue) Kerkman, Rich (Carol) Kerkman, Jean (Bob) Lois and Gayle Kerkman. She is further survived by her siblings, Vern (Carol) Henningfield and Dorothy Ludwig; sister-in-law Joan Henningfield, 30 grandchildren, 57 great-grand children and 21 great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; her children; Robert, Jerry and Marlene; in-laws, Don Reesman, Bill Hoffmann and Bill Larson; siblings, Fred, Edwin (Helen), Louis (Bernie), Mildred (Lud) and Frank; in-law Bob Ludwig, and step-son Roger Kerkman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Robert Kacalo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9:30AM until 10:30 AM at the CHURCH. The family is suggesting memorials go to St. Mary’s Church – Dover.
