RACINE - Stanley O. Breiwick, 90, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, February 8, 2013. He was born in the town of Hamilton, La Crosse County, Wisconsin on March 24, 1922, the son of the late Alfred and Mabel (nee: Erickson) Breiwick. Stanley attended West Salem High School. He served in the United States Army from November 1942 to October 1945. Stanley participated in the Middle Eastern Theater, serving in Italy, France and Germany, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway. Stanley had been employed with J. I. Case Company for 26 years, as a supervisor, retiring in 1987. On November 22, 2003 he was united in marriage to Betty Barth at Emmaus Lutheran Church. Surviving is his wife, Betty, son, Stan R. (Karen) Breiwick of Racine, daughter, Linda J. (David) Matzke of Green Bay; grandchildren, Jamie (Jessica) Breiwick, Emily (Andy) Sweetman, Sarah Breiwick, Noah Breiwick and Ben Matzke; great grandchildren, Nathan, Jack, Nolan, Sadie, Adam and Miles; a brother, Allison Breiwick; stepchildren, Deanna Barth of Franklin and Joel Barth of Nekoosa. Stanley is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie M. Breiwick on March 19, 2000, a son, Kevin M. Breiwick on December 15, 2002, four brothers and four sisters. Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 7 p.m. Stan will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.
