RACINE - Warren H. Williamson, M.D. passed away at Hospice House on Veteran's Day; Monday, November 11, 2013. Dr. Williamson was born in Racine on June 4, 1924 to Warren W. and Hattie (nee, Dahlke) Williamson. Dr. Williamson graduated from Horlick High School in 1942. He attended Northwestern University as an Evans Scholar. He received his undergraduate degree and graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1948. Dr. Williamson played on the Northwestern University golf team during his undergraduate studies. Dr. Williamson practiced family medicine in Racine from 1949 until he retired in 1989. He married the former Jacqueline Draves on April 20, 1947. Dr. Williamson served in the U.S. Army ~ Captain during the Korean Conflict as a battalion and regimental surgeon with the 9th infantry division from June 4, 1951 to June 3, 1953. He was awarded the Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star for valor. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Williamson, his children; Christina Williamson, M.D. (Karla Rose, PhD), Scott Williamson (Cathy), Ann Closser (Rex Vedder), and Jon Williamson (Jeanne). Eight grandchildren; Chelsie, Jennie, Andrew, Gretchen, Daniel (Closser) Isabelle, Lily, Jack Williamson, two great grandchildren; Gabrielle and Emilio, and two step grandchildren, Katie and Leslie Vedder. In keeping with Dr. Williamson's wishes, a private immediate family memorial service will be held. Entombment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
