. MILWAUKEE - Willie Ambrose Jr., age 58, passed away December 15, 2013 at Milwaukee Zablocki Veterans Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1955 to Willie Anderson and Maude Eva (nee Ambrose) McGrone in Racine, WI. His early life was spent in Racine where he attended Howell Elementary School and graduated from Washington Park High School. After high school Willie joined the U.S. Navy, serving from December of 1976 through October 1981, which after that time, he was honorably discharged. Willie was an electrical/mechanical equipment repair man during the Vietnam War, serving in the Philippines and Okinawa, Japan. Willie resided in Milwaukee the past 3 years working in the shipping and receiving department, at the Veterans Zablocki Medical Center. He was a devoted athlete and enjoyed working out and being physically fit. Willie was an avid sports enthusiast and a diehard Packer and Brewer fan. Willie is survived by his children: Tawana E. Wartchow, Willie Ambrose Jr. and Zenobia Ambrose all of Milwaukee, his grandchildren: LaBoshia Q. Miller A.O. Vaquess L. Miller, Deshay P.S. Wartchow, Tawana E. T. Wartchow, Nasir T. K. Wartchow, Kareema S.S. Wartchow, Mr. Ambrose A. M. Wartchow, Zamiyra Ambrose and Irys Scott, great-grandchild, Dewone Jermain Huddleston II. Siblings: Porline Holmes of Chicago, Floyd McGrone of IL and Annette McGrone (George Womack) of Racine, special friends Mike and Jaymie Keelan and Deborah E. Wartchow, three special nieces Katherine (Victor) Anderson, Lolitha (Jerry) Johnson and Sondra McGrone. Willie is further survived by 3 uncles, 6 nieces, 3 nephews, a host of great and great–great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie A. and Maude Eva McGrone, sister Lucille Ambrose and nephew Damon Stallworth. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Annette, Pauline and Deborah, for their many years of support. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 21, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 2:30PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Monday December 23, 2013 at 12 Noon at the So Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
