KENDALLVILLE — Harold Richard 'Hop' Jennings, age 79, lifetime Kendallville resident, died on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

Mr. Jennings was born in Kendallville, Indiana, on August 10, 1934, to the late Theodore Roosevelt Jennings and Sarah Jane (Hanlon) Jennings.
He graduated from Kendallville High School in 1952 and served his country in the United States Army.
He married Rita Vernell Kimmell on November 27, 1964 in Kendallville.
Hop was a truck driver and employed with Food Marketing of Fort Wayne for 32 years before retiring in 1999.
He loved woodworking, gardening and meeting his buddies for morning coffee. Hop also enjoyed card parties and playing Euchre and he was an avid East Noble sports fan. He was a member the American Legion Post 86 and Moose Lodge in Kendallville, the South Milford Lion's Club and he attended Wayne Center United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Jennings of Kendallville; a son, Ron and Pam Jennings of Westler Lake, Wolcottville; two daughters, Rhonda Jennings of Kendallville and Rene and Gene Cramer of Kendallville; and a granddaughter, Madison Cramer.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Jennings and Jack Jennings, and his sister, Donna Caudill.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be today, May 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Walker officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Kendallville American Legion Post 86, VFW Post 2749, Rome City American Legion Post 381, and active duty U.S. Army troops.
Preferred memorials may be made to the Arc Noble County Foundations, Inc., 506 S. Orange St., Albion, IN or to Riley Hospital for Children.
