WOLCOTTVILLE — Larry Edward Davisson, age 64, of Wolcottville died on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his Big Long Lake home.

He was born in Rensselaer, Indiana, on March 15, 1950, to George Davisson and Melcena (Henderson) Davisson.
Larry served in the Army National Guard for six years from 1970 to 1976.
He married Kay L. Shellenbarger on February 13, 1971, in Kendallville and she survives on Big Long Lake.
Through the years Larry worked for Max Platt Ford in Kendallville, Wible Lumber in South Milford, Forest River in Middlebury and most recently for Horizon Transport in Wakarusa.
Larry enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He was also a huge IU fan. Most of all he was an avid fisherman and he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids. Larry was the type of person that would do anything for anyone at anytime.
Survivors include his wife, Kay L. Davisson of Big Long Lake; a son, Ty and Amanda Davisson of Saint Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Laren and Mitch Ogle of Perrysburg, Ohio; six grandchildren, Emma Davisson, Ayla Davisson, Zane Davisson, Rhys Davisson, Olivia Ogle and Eli Ogle; a brother, John Davisson; a sister, MaryAnn and William Piatt of Springfield, Missouri; and his best friend, Dave and Debbie Judkins of Big Long Lake, who was like a brother.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville.
Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Kevin Carson.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
