Baughman, Douglas Allen, 34, born on December 2, 1977 in Wichita, Kansas to Joe and Diane Charter Baughman, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Humble, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his Granny, Velma Wallace Baughman, his Grandparents, Harold Charter and Velma Armstrong Charter. Survivors include: Loving Wife Lisa Johnson Baughman of Humble Texas; Parents, Joe and Linda Baughman, Diane Baughman-Chambers and Bill Chambers; Best friend and Brother Glenn Baughman; Grandparents Glenn and Ada Baughman, all of Wichita, Kansas; In-Laws Dr. Ian and Marie Johnson, Palm Bay, Florida; Aunts and Uncles: Dave & Sheila Baughman, Jan Baughman & Charles Waldron, Gary & Jan Charter; Cousins: Kristy Baughman, Clayton & Alisha Baughman, Nate Williams, Darci & Steven Freeman, Cari Charter, Chris & Toni Charter, Clancy Charter and Grey Charter; Family pets: Abby Rabinowitz and Jacqueline of the home. Douglas graduated from Maize High School, Wichita State University, and University of New Mexico where he received his Masters Degree in Music Performance. Douglas played in the Maize Band; Marching and Jazz. He was active in the Wichita University Orchestra, Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, Student Chamber Brass ,and WSU Jazz Band. He won a spot on the Concerto/Aria Concert with the Vaughn Williams Concerto and winning the New Mexico assistantship was through National Audition. While in Wichita, performed with the Junior Symphony, and The Wichita Symphony, and Tuba Christmas. He performed in the New Mexico Brass Quintet and New Mexico Orchestra. He was a Veteran of the US Army, and served with the 77th Army Band. Douglas was a member of Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Douglas was a General Music Teacher at Aldine ISD and a Private Music Tutor. He played in the Houston Brass Band and Houston Area Brass Quintet. He was a Musician, Photographer, Grill Master and Chef Extraordinaire. The service, a Celebration of Doug's life, will be a 10:00 am on Saturday, November 10th 2012 at Grace Memorial Chapel at WSU, toward the center of campus. 1845 Fairmount Wichita, Kansas. In Lieu of Flowers, the Family is requesting memorials to Douglas Baughman Tuba Music Fund, Wichita State University for the School of Music, 1845 Fairmount, Box 2, Wichita, KS 67260. Burial at Cheney Old Pioneer Cemetery, Cheney Kansas.
