Fiser, George N., 82, of Wichita, formerly of Cherryvale, Kan., passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the Larksfield Place in Wichita. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kan. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Visitation hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, with the family receiving friends at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. George was born the son Van Crawford and Dora May (Warner) Fiser on Jan. 16, 1932, in Cherryvale. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from the Cherryvale High School in 1949. George then attended and graduated from Wichita State Univeristy. On June 4, 1953, George married Barbara J. Tomlinson in Wichita, where the couple made their home. Barbara preceded him in death. George was employed by Moberly, West, Jennings CPA's in Wichita from 1955 to 1965. George then worked for SRI (formerly Garvey Inc.) from 1965 till his retirement on Jan. 31, 1997. On Nov. 4, 1953, George entered the United States Air Force Reserve, where he spent active duty in Anchorage, Alaska. George was honorably discharged from the Reserves on March 22, 1967. He was a member of Kansas Society CPA's, American Institute of CPA's, Institutes of Management Accountants over 25 years, American Legion Post 401 in Wichita and Moose Lodge of Wichita. Survivors include one son, David N. and wife, Stacy Fiser of Wichita; daughters, Cynthia J. and husband, Willie Washington of Dover, N.C., Jolene M. and husband, Michael Carrera of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Weber; brother, Van E. Fiser; and a sister, Marjorie Kuykendall.
