Kinzy, Jerry, 75, retired Chief of Environmental Services at Wichita Sedgwick County Health Department, died Monday, March 10, 2014. Born July 17, 1938, to Herschel and Opal Kinzy, Jerry was a 1956 graduate of East High School. He received his bachelor's degree from University of California Los Angeles and his Law Degree from the University of California, Berkeley. His keen mind, quick wit, humor and generous nature will be greatly missed by all. Jerry enjoyed travel and was a voracious reader and history buff, especially of the Civil War. He visited all of the major Civil War battle sites and many minor sites. Jerry enjoyed vacationing in Seagrove Beach, Florida during the winter. Jerry is survived by Nancy Howey (long-time partner); son, Jason (Shireen); grandchildren, Sydney, Tyler; brother, Robert (Sally); nephews, Brian (Chris), Tim (Sarah), Jeff; niece, Jenae; two great-grandnephews, Sam, Matt; ex-wife and friend, Evelyn; and longtime childhood friend, Jack. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N. River Blvd., Wichita, KS 67203.
