Clark, Wayne Herbert, 85, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away at his home Tuesday, June 25, 2013, suffering the effects of esophagus cancer. Born May 15, 1928 in a farm house North of Towanda, Kansas to Russie and Eliza Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Audine Bates of Augusta, Kansas and Delma Wilson of Potwin, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley (Morley) Clark of Bella Vista, Arkansas, son Craig Clark of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter Debra Hadix of Bella Vista, Arkansas, son Kevin Clark of Bella Vista, Arkansas, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He served his country in the US Army 140AAA Battery 40th Division during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Towanda High School Class of 1946. He earned his BS from Southwestern College in 1950, His ME from Wichita State University in 1959, his Ed. D from Kansas University in 1975. He served as an educator, coach and administrator in Pierceville, Neosho Rapids, Benton, Towanda, Medicine Lodge, Valley Center, and Conway Springs, Kansas over a period of 40 years. He retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1993 where he enjoyed the remainder of his life playing golf, gardening, photography, making friends, Kansas University Basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and relishing his family. Service will be held 10 am July 13, 2013 at the Benton Cemetery with a Celebration of Life and brunch to follow at the Benton Community Center.
