Obituary Condolences

Anna Louise Jacobs passed away August 1, 2013 in Topeka, KS. Ann was born November 2, 1923 in Coffeen, IL, to George & Lula Manuell. Ann graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1945. After graduation, she taught high school in Casey, IL. She married Charles L. Jacobs June 27, 1948, and they moved to Ethiopia where Ann taught school for 3 years. After returning to the US, they settled in Lawson, MO, where Mrs. J. was a beloved teacher for over 30 years. Ann was a member of the United Christian Presbyterian Church, Beta Sigma Phi, and PEO (Chapters AO, MO; HG, KS). Family was exceptionally important to Ann. She is survived by daughter Diane (Jim Renner), two grandchildren: Jocelyn (Benjamin Passty) and Adam (Mary Norrick), two great-grandchildren: Anna and Alaina, and sister Diane Lynch. Sister-in-law Donna Manuell, Aunt Billy Tompson, and nieces and nephews will greatly miss "Cheeta." She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, her brothers, Robert and James, and two sons, George and Charles. The service will be held Tuesday, August 6 at 10:00 at the United Christian Presbyterian Church, Lawson, MO, 305 E. 4th St. Burial will in the Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, MO. Visitation will be held Monday, August 5 from 4-8 at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, MO (816-580- 7704). In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Ann Jacobs Scholarship Foundation, care of Lawson Bank (401 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Lawson, MO 64062).
