CHARLES EDWIN ZAJIC Obituary
Charles Edwin Zajic, Lee's Summit, lost his battle with cancer March 27, 2014, at the VA Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Kansas City, the son of Joseph and Nora Emanuel Zajic and brother of Frances Pearl Zajic McCormick. He now joins them in death. Chuck leaves his wife, Barbara Oldham Zajic of the home; son, Stephen Charles Zajic (Genevieve), Pleasanton, Calif.; nieces, Shirley Marsh and Marilyn Crumpler and their families. He enjoyed Barbara's family, Marc Olson (Page), Lenexa, Kan., Kirk Olson (Renee), Lakewood, Colo., Shar Lea Olson Terry (Kurt), Lee's Summit, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dottie Lammers (Joe) and Susan Webb. Chuck graduated from NKC High School in 1948. He attended KCJC until he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and switched to the KC School of Watch Making, graduating from there after serving four years in the Navy Air Corps during the Korean Conflict. After graduation he was employed by Green Jewelry. He took over his parent's store, Zajic Jewelry, in NKC and later was hired by Goldman Jewelry, who transferred him to California. He lived in Fremont, Calif., for 30 years and returned to this area in 1997. He was a member of the Gemologists of America, American Legion and the Lake Lotowana Gun Club. Not enough kind words and appreciation can be said regarding his care at KCVA and Davita Dialyzing. Cremation and private burial. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite animal charity. Friends and family can express condolences from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the family home.
