CHRISTOPHER HUCK Obituary
June 4, 1966- November 19, 2013 Chris Huck, 47, passed away on November 19, 2013 following a courageous battle with Prostate cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Nancy, and their daughters, Lauren and Emma. Chris is also survived by his mother, Jeanne Huck; siblings Mark, Michael (Kim), and Kathleen (John); Nancy's parents, Gordon and Carol Rosenthal; siblings, Lon, Lori, Leanne Knutson (Kurt); nieces and nephews, Jonathon Huck, Tina Huck, Rebecca Rosenthal, Katie Knutson and Jack Knutson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris was recently predeceased by his father, Clemence Huck. Chris graduated from Union- Endicott High School in Endicott, New York, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. He was employed as a Systems Analyst with Ascend Learning in Leawood, Kansas. Chris was a wonderful father and husband who loved spending time with his wife and girls. Among their many fun trips were the annual treks to Clear Lake, Iowa, to celebrate the 4th of July with Nancy's family. Chris encouraged the girls' love of sports, cheering them on from the sidelines, practicing with them in the backyard, and teaching them to ski which he loved throughout his life. He also enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs and Nancy's alma mater, Iowa State. He loved an underdog. Chris lived his life with enthusiasm and a great sense of humor. His friends and family will miss his casual, carefree spirit and fierce determination and grace in spite of an aggressive cancer diagnosis and difficult course of treatment. Two organizations that gave Chris' life meaning during the past 18 months are Faith, Hope, Love, Win (flhw.org), an organization founded by David Emerson to raise funds and awareness to battle advanced metastatic prostate cancer, and Church of the Resurrection's Congregational Care ministries. The family suggests either of these organizations for anyone wishing to make a memorial. A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS, on November 23 at 2:00PM. The family will greet friends immediately following in the youth center at the church. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.CremationCenterKC.com.
