DORIS KNIGHT Obituary
Doris Knight was born to Frederick Elias Warren and Ethel Warren, March 23, 1939 in Phoenix, Arizona. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers William Othello Warren and Raymond Duane Warren. Doris graduated from South Mountain High School in Phoenix, AZ in 1956; and received a degree from Arizona State University and the University of Phoenix in 1994. Doris worked for the Arizona Department of Economic Security for many years as the manager of Data Administration until she retired. After she retired, she relocated to Overland Park, Kansas to live with her son Courtney and help him raise his two daughters. Doris was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She understood the meaning of service as she served as Treasurer at Church Women United, Presbyterian Woman in Heartland Presbytery, and for the Women's Association at Covenant. She held other titles in the five-fold ministry as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder. Doris leaves behind to cherish precious memories and to celebrate her life, three brothers; Frederick, Paul and Barton Warren; two sons, Kevin Allan and Calvin Courtney; five grandchildren: Allison Beatrice, Ashley Elizabeth, Marcus Benjamin, Nicole Michelle, Lauren Elizabeth, one great grandson Jacob Alexander; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial will be held Sunday, March 9th at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 5931 Swope Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri at 10:30 a.m. Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri, www.kccremation.com
